What do you do when, on Sunday morning at 9:30am, you realise the children have a party in two hours and the gift drawer has not been restocked? You have some books for a baby or some pencils… Hmmm…
Make a pencil pouch following the Noodlehead tutorial, fill it with a box of new pencils and by 10:15am, Bob’s your uncle (interesting fact: Bob really is my Uncle!)
I resized the pieces and didn’t make the scrappy panel but I always use this tutorial to remind me how to assemble pouches, it’s super easy to do.
Bob’s my Father in law! We too have a gift drawer that doesn’t always contain what’s needed, but whipping this up is impressive!
Hi Camilla! Sorry I missed your comment earlier :(
What do you put in the gift drawer? I’m ready to do a top up and need some fresh ideas!
Haha! Bob really is your uncle! What a great little pencil case, I’d be way to stressed under that time pressure to produce anything! Nicely done :)
Hi Wendy
For some crazy reason time pressure is the only way anything gets done around here! I have to have a tight deadline or I muck around too much. I do wish I could pace myself better but when I try it, I don’t finish things. Any tips?
You have a gift drawer? That’s brilliant. And that little pouch! How great is the combo of apple fabric and pencils?!
Hi Amanda,
Yes a present drawer is the best thing ever (except when it’s under stocked!). I buy gifts as I see them on sale and usually have a reasonable selection in the drawer. I think it allows the girls to go “shopping” and think about the gift that suits the person rather than selecting based on brand or price.
The apple/pencil combo is cute, I can’t take credit though, the six year old has more style than her mother!!!
hey, Bob’s my uncle too (well, Robert actually). Love the pouch!
Thanks Charlotte, the birthday girl was thrilled which made my day :)
